Women of Union is dedicated to supporting women who work in or who are deeply engaged in rugby
We want to help rugby to become a sport where women always feel valued, supported, safe, and respected, and we want to help women reach their full potential within our incredible sport.
Women of Union will bring people together to help grow rugby, by focusing on four key areas. These are people who want to be part of our work to:
CELEBRATE
Championing women who work in and around the sport, raising their profile and highlighting their success.
CONNECT
Creating opportunities to bring people across the sport together to learn from each other and discuss issues.
ADVOCATE
Playing a role within the sport to improve key areas such as encouraging more inclusive systems, practices and more diverse clubs and boards.
SUPPORT
Supporting women in rugby through times of challenge, creating a safe space where they can be heard and where they can seek advice.
Membership
If you are currently working in and around rugby and want to expand your professional network, please become a member of Women of Union, where you can benefit from programmes and connections from across the sport.
Membership is free and is open to everyone.
Our research
Women of Union has partnered with Leeds Beckett University to commission a significant piece of research to understand the experiences and motivations of women working in rugby. The findings will have a direct impact on what we as an organisation offer our members and will be used to support existing initiatives and projects across the sport which work to support women.
The research has been supported by England Rugby, Premiership Rugby, the Welsh Rugby Union and Premiership Women’s Rugby.
Insights from the research will be published early 2025
