What we do

Women of Union is dedicated to supporting women who work in or who are deeply engaged in rugby. Our goal is to help rugby to become a sport where women always feel valued, supported, safe, and respected, and to help women reach their full potential within the sport.

We want to:

  • Help support career progression in rugby for women working in or around the game by offering specific programmes and resources.

  • Champion those women who are doing a brilliant job and highlight their success

  • Help to improve the culture and the environment experienced by women working in the game.

  • Understand common challenges and barriers and work to highlight these and break them down through research and data projects

  • Provide peer-learning opportunities and in time, possible training opportunities in areas such as leadership and development

  • Hold regular networking events.

How you can get involved

If you are currently working in and around rugby and want to expand your professional network, please become a member of Women of Union, where you can benefit from programmes and connections from across the sport.

Women of Union will bring people together to help grow rugby, by focusing on four key areas. These are people who want to be part of our work to:

CELEBRATE

Championing women who work in and around the sport, raising their profile and highlighting their success.

CONNECT

Creating opportunities to bring people across the sport together to learn from each other and discuss issues.

ADVOCATE

Playing a role within the sport to improve key areas such as encouraging more inclusive systems, practices and more diverse clubs and boards.

SUPPORT

Supporting women in rugby through times of challenge, creating a safe space where they can be heard and where they can seek advice.
